My given name Hugo Daniel Teixeira Barata, my stage name ‘DJ BARATA’. Son of both Angolan parents, hence my passion for music. It’s a fundamental part of my culture and was a influential part of my upbringing. Which stemed from my father and his love for music, old school classics i grew up listening too. I gained an interest at a very young age and started to take my fathers cds without him knowing. Listening to each song carefully, admiring not just the lyrics and melody but also the musical composition of songs and how they varied through different genres. Which later on triggered my interest in producing.
